Scallop shell jewellery is worn as a symbol of faith, and the use of the scallop shell as a means of protection (or as a protective charm) dates back to the Middle Ages: It is the traditional emblem of St. James (James the Greater (one of the Twelve Apostles) and the patron saint of Spain and Portugal). Symbolically, the scallop shell is believed to signify the rebirth of a person, their resurrection, and the overcoming of problems.

When a Shamrock has a fourth leaf, it represents God’s Grace, and so encapsulates everything that a person could want.
But overall, few symbols exist that are as widely recognised or hold as much meaning as the Cross. It is used worldwide to symbolise Christianity – and Faith in positive outcomes.
